LIRR Adds Additional Trains Ahead of Snow

Three more trains added from Penn Station to Babylon to help riders get home early.

In preparation for tonight's expected snowfall, the Long Island Rail Road has added additional trains to get commuters home from New York City tonight.

The LIRR has added eight trains out of Penn Station tonight, including three more on the Babylon Branch, to help alleviate the stress potentially caused by tonight's expected winter storm.

The trains added are as follows:

  • A 2:32 p.m. train from Penn Station due in Babylon at 3:45 p.m., running express to Lynbrook and then all local stops to Babylon.
  • A 3:00 p.m. train from Penn Station due in Babylon at 4:12 p.m. with stops at Jamaica and Rockville Centre and then all local stops to Babylon.
  • A 3:31 p.m. train from Penn Station due in Babylon at 4:39 p.m., running express to Rockville Centre and then all local stops to Babylon.

The LIRR said it was not currently delayed on any of its lines. Customers should take precautions getting home and expect potential delays due to the snow.
