PHOTOS: The Winter View from Captree

Local photograph Flo Siemsen sent us some great shots yet again of the post-Sandy shoreline.

The shorelines closest to the Atlantic Ocean saw a great deal of devestation during the onslaught of Hurricane Sandy in October.

Between the hurricane-force winds, large tidal surge and pounding waves, the beloved beaches took quite a hit from Sandy. The recovery continues to the south of Babylon Village, with the Ocean Parkway under a major reconstruction and most of the Town Beaches in need of huge repairs, but life is slowly returning to normal.

Local photograph Flo Siemsen took these shots from Captree State Park near and at the Robert Moses Causeway Bridge not too long ago. As evident from these shots, the beaches, just like Long Island, are coming back to vibrant life.
