Town Pumping Sand to Beaches Through Pipes

Babylon Town's ambitious goal to restore the town beaches by Memorial Day after Hurricane Sandy's storm surge pummeled them continues to the village's south.

Patch reader Tony Werner sent in these photos, along with other shots of the beaches in recent weeks, to give us the update on the use of pipes to get the sand out to the areas it is needed for new dunes and beach restoration.
