West Babylon's First Annual "Spring Go-Green Clean-Up"

The West Babylon Main Street Organization will hold its community’s first annual Spring Go-Green Clean-Up, Sat., May 4, 8:30 am to 11am. The registration table will be at the back parking lot of Our Lady of Grace Church next to the Van Borgondien Farm House, where Elected Officials will also help to kick off the event with a ribbon cutting ceremony.After the ceremony, participants will break into groups and be assigned an area and captain. Garbage bags and gloves will be provided with also some donated flowers to plant at the various locations as well. Participants are asked to just bring any garden tools to help clean and plant. Each volunteer will receive a certificate of participation and all students will receive an additional certificate in honor of Global Youth Services Day as well.Many of our community organizations are helping to lead cleanups and plantings at sites such as Van Borgondien Park(surrounding area of the park),the Field of Dreams behind OLOG Church, the WB Youth Center, Anthony Sanchez Memorial Park &Pool (Sawyer Avenue Park) tennis and basketball court areas, John Pape Memorial Park, the WB SHS and JHS and South Bay Elementary schools and Little East Neck Road at the WB Lions Club 10th street and Vemont/Bauer holiday tree location and also the Chelsea Avenue beautification site( across from the CVS).For information and to help expedite registration for volunteer certificates, please visit our website at www.wbmso.org and click the link to pre-register or email webmaster@wbmso.org.
