Village Viewfinder: Girl Scouts Deliver Donated Books
Local Girl Scout Troop 283 delivered large-print books to the Babylon Beach House after book drive a week ago.
Babylon Village's Girl Scout Troop 283 delivered their collection of over 40 large-print books to the Babylon Beach House this past weekend.
The girls collected the books during a donation drive a week ago at Babylon Public Library, which helped by donating some of its own collection to the drive.
The Babylon Beach House, located seaside next to the Venetian Yacht Club, was completely gutted following the storm surge of Hurricane Sandy. Aside from the building's structure, everything inside of the senior residence was lost during the storm.
A call recently went out to local residents to donate large-print books to the residence so seniors would have new reading material as they begin to live there once again.
