Have You Seen the Babylon Village Foxes?

One Patch reader reported seeing foxes near the Southards Pond area.

With the craziness of Hurricane Sandy in October behind us and a blizzardy February now in the history books, it's always a good thing to see Mother Nature's beauty give us a sense of normalcy.

Babylon Village Patch reader John Frohlich snapped these photos of a fox near his home on Siegal Boulevard.

"We have 3 fox who visit regularly," he wrote. "Two males and a female. The female appears to be pregnant and we believe she might have given birth recently as its been 2 to 3 days since we have seen her."

Foxes, espeically this species – the red fox, are actually a common animal on Long Island, but are not usually seen often due to their natural impulse to hide.

As always, if you see a fox near your home, do not approach them. Foxes will not attack unless threatened or if someone (or something) gets too close.
