60 W. Babylon Students Earn AP Scholar Awards

Large crop of students earned high scores on their Advanced Placement tests.

The College Board awarded 30 current students and 30 graduates of West Babylon Senior High School who have earned AP Scholar Awards for their high scores on Advanced Placement exams.

West Babylon student Nicole Cutrone was named a National AP Scholar, a designation granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.

Nine West Babylon students were recognized as AP Scholars with Distinction —Julie Barrett, Nicole Cutrone, Gregory Fleury, John Martin, Anthony Morante, Victoria Sardelli, John Scheuring, Tara Smith and Amber Volz — for receiving an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.

Six students were recognized as AP Scholars with Honor — John Cifuentas, Luisa Coronado, Jamie Del Prete, Lily Li, Alexandra Martocci and John Modica — for achieving an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.

14 AP Scholars were named for receiving scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams. They are: 12th-graders Kenneth Beck, Laurie Bocca, Justin Dittrich, Camille Fider, Danielle Heerey, Johnathan Hernandez, Arsh Khwaia, Ryan Powers, Brianne Tase and Amanda Ziegler, and 11th-graders Christina Kielczewska, Jason Meurlin, James Preudhomme and Winnie Wong. 

The students took AP exams in May 2013 upon completing rigorous college-level courses in the district.
