Elementary School Helps Needy Families with Thanksgiving Food Drive

Students give back to needy families on the country's annual holiday of Thanksgiving.

Babylon Elementary School students gave back to those in need as Thanksgiving came last month during the school's food drive.

The students as well as the staff generously donated overwhelmingly, donating several boxes filled with nonperishable breakfast, lunch and dinner items to help families in need during the holiday.

The boxes were reportedly dropped out to several local families just in time for the annual American holiday, providing a great meal to those who needed it most.

In addition to learning how to help their community through giving back, students learned the history of the holiday in classes.

Second-graders took part in a traditional Thanksgiving feast while dressing the part of the Pilgrims and Native Americans making hats and shirts from paper.
