He faced an uphill battle, according to a report by News 12 Long Island, with doctors telling him he may never walk or be able to swallow ever again.
But Giuliani tackled all of the odds, even running a bit at a Long Island Lions semi-pro football game on Saturday.
The team, which plays its home games in West Babylon, honored the teen on his 18th birthday and Giuliani served as an honorary captain for the team during the game.
Giuliani, who was able to graduate from West Babylon High School last year despite the odds, is now attending Suffolk County Community College as a freshman. According to News 12, he is planning on majoring in communications.
