West Babylon Lions Club Gets New Home
Local club will head across from high school after fire destroyed headquarters in March.
The West Babylon Lions Club will soon have a new place to call home – right in the middle of town.
The club is headed to a new spot on Little East Neck Road, across from West Babylon Senior High School at the intersection with Route 109.
The former Sunshine Plus storefront at 399 Little East Neck Road will become the new home for the club as signs on the windows announced the imminent arrival of the new tenant.
The new headquarters is stationed between the Dunkin Donuts and a barber shop, with a large parking lot less than 50 yards away where a new Crunch Gym is moving in.
The Lions Club, a longtime service club within the hamlet, lost its headquarters earlier this year when a fire destroyed the entire building it had been housed in.
That fire at the building, located at 1029 Little East Neck Road, claimed one life in an apartment right above the club's headquarters.
