Jessie's Girl Featuring Constantine Maroulis At Tanner Park

Babylon Summer Concert Series

Long Islanders went ‘Back To The Eighties’ Friday night at Tanner Park in Copiague when ‘80s tribute band Jessie’s Girl featuring Constantine Maroulis performed live in front of an audience of thousands. Music from Bon Jovi, Journey, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, The Police, and Poison among others were rocked out and ‘nothin’ but a good time’ was had by all.

Tony nominee and American Idol alum Constantine Maroulis joins the cast of Jessie’s Girl on select performances but is currently working on many of his own projects as well. Maroulis who stared in roles on Broadway in The Wedding Singer, Rock of Ages, and Jekyll & Hyde is currently working on creating two new Broadway shows. The Toxic Avenger, which he will be producing as well as playing the title role in, written by Bon Jovi keyboard player David Bryan whose last Broadway hit Memphis went on to win four Tony awards is based on the cult classic horror film and comic book of the same name. Gettin’ The Band Back Together, another Broadway show he’s creating also staring Marilu Henner, is about a guy who loses his big paying job on Wall Street on his 40th birthday forcing him to move back home to New Jersey with his mom ultimately getting his high school band back together for a final re-match of the battle of the bands.

Just announced this week Maroulis will also be rejoining the cast of Rock of Ages, the Broadway hit where he originated the role of Drew in 2009, for a limited time running August 3rd through October 26 at the Helen Hayes Theatre. If you haven’t seen the show yet now’s the time. Get your tickets now.

When not gracing the big stages of Broadway you can find Maroulis on smaller local stages raising money for charity which helps support our communities. He will be at the Staten Island Mall on Sunday, August 24th benefiting The Carl V. Bini Memorial Fund’s Bikers For Bini event which will not only have live musical entertainment but rides, a motorcycle run, and a classic car show. The festivities run from 11 am- 6 pm and tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for kids (12-18), while children 12 and under are free. The Bini Fund raises money to create scholarships, emergency grants, and crisis support to help those in their time of need. Tickets can be purchased online, at the door the day of the event, or at any Victory State Bank location on Staten Island.

Maroulis is also currently in the studio making new original music of his own; his last cd titled Constantine was released in 2007. With a few solo rock shows planned this summer keep up to date on his latest tour information online to see where you can see him live.
