Lucy Proto, Former West Babylon Resident, Passes Away
Former Tooker Avenue Elementary School secretary was 82 years old.
Lucy Portuese Proto, a former West Babylon resident, passed away on October 11.
Proto was 82 years old.
The former West Babylon School District secretary had been living with her husband of 62 years, Crispin, in Moriches for some time.
Proto was a mother of three children – Francine, Christopher and Angela – as well as a grandmother of five.
In recent years since her retirement from Tooker Avenue Elementary School, Proto had been an active member of the friends of the Center Moriches Public Library.
A wake was held on Sunday and Monday at the Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home and a funeral was held at the St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday.
She will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in Babylon Village.
