A Time to Begin Anew

Spring is a time for renewal, a time for new beginnings. It is also the perfect opportunity to make personal changes and create a healthier life.

In our day to day hectic routine, we rarely make time for ourselves--often putting others first and neglecting what is best for us. Truth be told, if you take care of number one, you can accomplish so much more in life.

Imagine waking up each morning feeling fulfilled, happy and grateful despite a day filled with meetings? Or if you are a parent, that daily 'kid shuffle' from school to band practice to the ball field?

Even if you have been diagnosed with a chronic illness, you can still enjoy countless aspects of your life in a more fulfilling way. I understand, as I speak from experience.

In 2005, I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called Polymyositis. Despite countless doctor visits, tests, pharmaceuticals including chemotherapy, in order to live a healthier life, I had to take control of my life and embrace the power of my mind to heal.

As a Metaphysician and Certified Consulting Hypnotist, I understand that the subconscious mind must be cleared of negative thinking so that a person may enjoy maximum good health. My goal for this new health and wellness column is to give you the tools to make positive changes in your life spiritually, emotionally and physically.

The road to total mind-body health does not depend on one single decision or choice. A person must commit to making small, positive steps each and every day to experience change of any kind.

Remember the age old question "is your glass half empty or half full?" Your answer will reflect your outlook on life, how you feel about yourself, your interactions with others and, most importantly, the affect it has on your overall health.

Healthy living doesn't happen by chance. Everyone has the opportunity to practice living in perfect balance, within one's body, mind and soul. It is important to understand that a healthy lifestyle is based on the choices we make.

It is about making specific choices that give you the opportunity to feel your best for as long as you can. Living a healthy lifestyle is about saying yes to life.

Through this column, I look forward to giving you the tools you will need to transform your life and your health. I want to help you renew the joy and passion that life has to offer.

Namaste.
