Cyber Monday: Have You Had Enough Shopping Yet?

Locals visited shopping malls on Black Friday and community stores on Small Business Saturday -- are you still shopping for deals Monday?

Malls and outlets were flooded with people on Black Friday, Smithtown locals hit stores in the community on Small Business Saturday, but now there's a new day for shopping and huge deals -- Cyber Monday.

Cyber Monday's origins date back to 2005, and according to ComScore statistics listed in a Nov. 23 story on Huffington Post, "consumers are expected to empty their wallets of more than $1 billion on Cyber Monday."

But with all these days for saving money being promoted, are you all shopped out?

Smithtown Patch reader "Pam" said in the comments on a question we posed Friday -- "Better Shopping Day: Black Friday or Small Business Saturday?" -- that people aren't shopping enough.

"New York now has a buget [budget] gap 170.8 million since July, and we currently are looking at a gap of 259.8 million for the fiscal year. In order to close that gap revenues will have to go up 5.1% in the last five months of this fiscal year," Pam wrote.

So will you open your wallets and buy your loved ones and coworkers gifts? Or have you shopped enough?
