Two men wearing partial masks robbed a bank in Amityville on Wednesday afternoon, Suffolk police reported.
At approximately 4:10 p.m., two robbers entered the Teacher’s Federal Credit Union at 355 Broadway in Amityville, with one approaching a teller and the other serving as lookout by the entrance, police said. The suspect announced a robbery and demanded cash while brandishing a canister of mace. Afterwards, they both fled on foot and were last seen heading north towards Dixon Avenue, according to police.
The suspect who approached the teller is described as a black male, approximately six feet tall, between 180 and 200 pounds and around 40 years of age. He was wearing a blue sweater, white gloves, a dark baseball cap and a fabric mask over the lower part of his face. His accomplice was also a black male, approximately 5 foot 10 inches tall, with a thin build wearing a white t-shirt, a baseball cap and a similar fabric mask.
