Crimes Nearby: Police Revive Man Overdosing

Suffolk County Police in Commack revived a man they said was overdosing on drugs on Monday.

According to police, Second Precinct Officer Joseph Mango responded to a 911 call of a 22-year old man who was unconscious and not breathing. Upon arriving at the scene, Mango found the man was unresponsive and in respiratory distress. A syringe was located near the victim.

Mango gave the unidentified man a dose of intranasal Narcan and the victim regained consciousness. The victim was then taken to Huntington Hospital.

Pulled From the Long Island Sound

Three men from Freeport were rescued from the Long Island Sound some 13 miles off the cost of Wading River after their family reported them missing.

According to police, the men were fishing in a Sevylon inflatable raft off of Hagerman Landing Beach in Rocky Point on Sunday at 5 p.m. When family members notified authorities that the men did not return home, a search by the Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau and United States Coast Guard was initiated.

Jorge Flores, 37; his son Walter Flores, 17; and Oscar Guillen, 27, were located by Coast Guard helicopter at 7:35 a.m. on June 3. Police Officers Matthew Funaro and David Goldstein pulled the three men onto the Suffolk Police boat and all three were transported to Yale New Haven Hospital for treatment of exposure.

Bagel Burglar Foiled

A Ronkonkoma man was arrested Monday for burglarizing a bagel store in Nesconset, Suffolk County Police said.

According to police, Mantas Lukosevicius, 17, broke through the side door of the Bagel Café, at 248 Smithtown Boulevard, and stole a “large amount of cash.” Lukosevicius is an employee of the store. Police said the incident happened just after midnight on May 27.

Fourth Squad detectives arrested Lukosevicius at his home in Ronkonkoma and charged him with Burglary Third Degree.
