Fight at Babylon Train Station Injures Two MTA Officers

The Sunday night altercation resulted in a felony charge for one of the two men involved for assault against the officers.

Two MTA police officers suffered minor injuries as they attempted to subdue a fight at the Babylon LIRR station Sunday night.

According to police, the two officers were answering an elevator alarm when they came upon two men fighting as they were exiting a westbound train.

Police said James Finnegan pushed another man in the face and that man fell and struck his head on the pavement. While trying to subdue Finnegan, the two officers suffered minor injuries. Police did not provide a hometown for Finnegan and did not release the identity of the man who was injured.

Finnegan was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and one count of resisting arrest. He was schedule to appear in court on Wednesday.
