Hemlock Cove Boating Crash Injures Two

Two injures, one boat seriously damaged after boating accident.

Two people were injured in a boating accident in Hemlock Cove on the Great South Bay on Sunday evening.

According to News 12 Long Island, two boats collided in the state boat channel near Gilgo Beach, commonly called "Hemlock Cove," at around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday evening.

After the collision, one of the boats began taking on water as local fire departments, including Babylon and West Islip, responded to the emergency call.

Two passengers on the boat that began sinking were reportedly uninjured.

Two other passengers in the other boat were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for minor injures.

There was no official word on what caused the accident.
