Man Arrested for DWI in Robert Moses Causeway Car Accident

State Police said driver registered a .14% BAC following breathalyzer test.

An early morning car crash Thursday on the Robert Moses Causeway led to a DWI arrest, according to New York State Police.

Carlos E. Ortiz, 24, was driving a 2006 BMW and had just exited southbound off the Southern State Parkway when he lost control of his car and hit the center median guide rail at about 1:05 a.m., according to a police report.

Troopers responding to the accident suspected the Bay Shore resident was intoxicated and arrested him for DWI, after a BAC breathlyzer test revealed a .14% level, and other traffic violations, according to state police.
