Police: Man Walking from Train Station Robbed by Teen

Teen wielded a BB gun during robbery, stealing a man's wallet before fleeing.

A teenage robber is behind bars after Suffolk County Police said he mugged a man walking home from the Babylon train station on Wednesday night.

A Babylon Village man was walking home on Mason Street from the Babylon Long Island Rail Road station at around 11:50 p.m. Wednesday when he was approached by a teenage boy on a bicycle. The teen threatened the man with BB gun and stole the man's wallet.

The victim was unharmed during the robbery.

An eyewitness to the crime confronted the suspect, who fled from the area on foot, police said.

The witness provided a description to Suffolk County Police officers and the suspect was located a short time later.

Laquan Brown, 16, of West Babylon was arrested and charged with Robbery in the Second Degree.

Brown will be arraigned on August 15 in First District Court in Central Islip.
