Police Open House Offers Tours, Demos

The Suffolk County Police Department is holding an open house event through Thursday with tours and demonstrations during each day.

Local residents are invited to get a unique look at police operations during “Police Week” taking place through Thursday, May 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Suffolk County Police Headquarters in Yaphank.

The open house event provides insight on police training and a look at equipment used by the various departments.

live demonstrations featuring an Emergency Vehicle Operations Course and police officers from Emergency Services, Marine Bureau, Canine and Aviation Sections. Live demonstrations begin at 11:30 a.m. daily.
