Police: Robbery at Chase Bank on Thursday Morning

Police were still investigating a reported robbery late Thursday morning.

Update (3:40 p.m.): Suffolk County Police are on the search for a man who robbed the Chase Bank in Babylon Village this morning.

According to Suffolk County Police, a man entered the bank on West Main Street at 8:35 a.m. and approached a teller with a note demanding cash and stating he possessed a gun.

The teller complied and gave the man cash from drawer. He fled from the building on foot westbound on Main Street.

The robber was described as a white man between 5-foot, 10-inches and 6-feet tall between 35 and 40 years old with a medium build. He was unshaven, wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt, baseball cap and glasses.

Police ask anyone with information about the robbery to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.

A robbery was reported at the Chase Bank in Babylon Village on Thursday morning, according to Suffolk County Police.

A report of a robbery was called into the Suffolk County Police Department at 8:40 a.m at 31 West Main Street in Babylon Village, a public information officer told Patch. 

Police were reportedly still on the scene at the bank in the later morning hours investigating the alleged crime.

There were no immediate details on what, if anything, had been stolen from the bank at this time.
A police representative said detectives are still investigating at the scene and would have more details later today.
