Police: Substitute Teacher From West Babylon Possessed Child Porn

A West Babylon man who is a substitute physical education teacher in the South Huntington School District was arrested Thursday afternoon after police say they found child pornography on his computer. 

Francesco Santodonato, 39, was arrested at 4:26 p.m. at his home after a forensic examination of Santodonato's computer and other media revealed pictures and videos of child pornography, police said. 

Suffolk Police said the arrest came following an investigation by detectives in the Computer Crimes Section. The investigation did not reveal there was physical contact between Santodonato and students, police said. 

Santodonato is charged with two counts of possession of a sexual performance of a child and three counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child.

He will be held overnight at the 7th Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.
