Police: West Babylon Bank Robbed

Robber alleges he has gun, gets away with undetermined amount of money.

Suffolk County Police say a man robbed a West Babylon bank earlier Monday, getting away with an undetermined amount of cash.

A man entered the Bank of America in West Babylon, located at 560 Montauk Highway, at around 1:30 p.m. Police said he handed a teller a note demanding money and stating he had a gun. The teller complied and the robber escaped the bank on foot.

Suffolk County Police are on the hunt for the suspect, who is said to be a white male The robber is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, and between 25 and 35 years old. He was wearing a black knit cap, dark sunglasses, a grey sweatshirt, blue jeans, and light-colored surgical gloves during the robbery.

Anyone with information on the bank robbery is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
