Police: Nursing Home Employee Stole Necklace From Dementia Patient
Beyonca King was arrested Friday, police say.
An employee at a West Babylon nursing home was arrested Friday after police say she stole a necklace from a patient last month and pawned it for cash.
Police say the family of a dementia patient at Berkshire Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, located at 10 Berkshire Road, contacted the nursing home, which then notified police on June 25 after a gold necklace and charm worn by the woman went missing.

Following an investigation, Beyonca King, a certified nursing assistant who has worked at the facility since 2010, was arrested. Police said King, of Wyandanch, had pawned the stolen items for cash.

Police said the nursing home assisted and cooperated with the investigation.
King, 29, is charged with petty larceny. She was scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip Friday.
The investigation is continuing and police are asking anyone with information on the case to contact the First Precinct Crime Section at 631-854-8130.
