Police: West Babylon Package Thief Arrested

Police arrested a man that allegedly stole packages delivered to a West Babylon home.

The Suffolk County Police Department arrested a man on Tuesday for allegedly stealing packages delivered to the doorsteps of a West Babylon home.

Police said suspect Christopher Breitkopf, 38, a homeless man, walked up the front steps of a West Babylon home at 4:45 p.m. and removed two packages containing over $200 worth of music equipment that had been delivered and left on the doorstep.

The Old Farmingdale Road homeowner, whose identity was not released, captured images of a man taking the packages using a surveillance camera. The homeowner, after realizing the packages had been delivered and stolen, found the images, contacted police and released the footage to detectives and Newsday.
