Report: Man Admits to Transporting Gilgo Victim to LI for Prostitution

Akeem Cruz, of Brooklyn, pleads guilty to trafficking prostitutes from Maine to Long Island, report says.

A Brooklyn man has admitted in court that he trafficked prostitutes from Maine to Long Island in 2009 and 2010; among them, Megan Waterman, whose remains were found on Gilgo Beach, according to a Newsday report.

Akeem Cruz, 22, pleaded guilty to violating the Mann Act, a federal law that prohibits transporting people across state lines for prostitution, the report says.

Cruz, and his co-defendant Robert Blake, who'll be tried later this year, reportedly brought two women from Maine to New York on several occasions and dropped them off at hotels to meet clients.
