Robbers Take West Babylon Home's Inflatable Pumpkin

Unknown robber takes family's decoration in the middle of the night.

A West Babylon family has lost a bit of their Halloween spirit after a man allegedly stole their inflatable pumpkin decoration from their lawn.

According to News 12 Long Island, the Hoffman family of West Babylon was sleeping on Saturday night when a man disconnected the large light-up decoration and ran off with it.

The over $100 item was nowhere to be seen Sunday, according to homeowner Kevin Hoffman, who found out what happened only after watching video surveillance recordings.

"I'm not happy," said Hoffman. "I work hard and try to keep everything nice. To have someone ruin a holiday and take a pumpkin is pretty sad."

The robber, as seen on the footage, appeared to be a single man, and not a teen.

The eight-foot-tall pumpkin is quite noticeable with its blinking lights and obvious size.

Hoffman told a news crew he filed a police report, but hopes the robber will simply return the decoration.
