Police Investigating Stabbing at Twisted Shamrock

Early reports indicate a 26-year old male was injured in the incident.

A 26-year-old white male was reportedly stabbed around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday outside the Twisted Shamrock tavern, located at 11 Railroad Avenue in Babylon Village.

The incident, according to a Suffolk Police report, resulted in one suspect’s arrest. No names regarding the alleged assailant or victim were provided as of early Wednesday morning.

According to Suffolk Police, the victim was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police officials declined to provide any other specific information, including the use of helicopters, which residents reported on Facebook pages. One community resident siad there were 20 plus law enforcement officers at one point at the location.

A call to the bar by Patch near midnight revealed that the bar owners had provided on-site security tapes to police investigators but they had no comment regarding the stabbing incident.

The first online social network note was made on Facebook by Scott Glenn who posted that a stabbing had occurred at the Twisted Shamrock.

Christine Gottsch reported on AroundBabylon, a local blog run by insurance agent Aaron Stein, that an individual was in cuffs by police at the Cold Stone Creamery and “people screaming at him not to say anything."
