Tres Palms, Police Searching for Alcohol Burglars

Restaurant was robbed in July night before grand opening.

Tres Palms and the Suffolk County Police Department are on the lookout for a group of men that allegedly stole $1,000 worth of alcohol in July the evening before the restaurant was set to open.

At about 1:30 a.m. on July 26th, owner Danny O'Donnell and crew were still up working in the restaurant, putting the finishing touches on the building's interior for a soft opening the next day.

According to camera footage at the restaurant, three men were observed watching the crew working inside and waited until they were out of the site of the back door. During this point, the three men allegedly snuck into the restaurant's locked alcohol storage area and stolen backpacks filled with alcohol and a case filled with vodka. O'Donnell estimated the contents altogether were worth about $1,000.

"It's really disheartening," said O'Donnell. "We're a family run business and just were oblivious to what happened."

The robbery was not even discovered until the next morning when O'Donnell's wife noticed a window was broken where the men had entered through.

O'Donnell told Patch he had not heard from the Suffolk County Police Department in some time and would like anyone with information about those who broke in to come forward.

"I'd like anyone to help us – we'll even compensate them with two dinners," he said. "Especially if someone identifies these guys."
