West Babylon Grandma Faces DWI, DUI, Child Endangerment Charges
First Precinct police say two-year-old grandson was in the car when driver was arrested.
A West Babylon grandmother is charged with driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
Donna Catania, 54, was stopped by a First Precinct officer at Arnold Avenue and Rosella Court about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The officer, according to a police statement, determined Catania was impaired by drugs.
She is charged with three criminal counts: aggravated DWI with a passenger 15 years old or younger, endangering the welfare of a child and driving under the influence of drugs. Her two-year-old grandson was a passenger in the car at the time, police said.
