West Babylon Man Faces Child Porn Charges

Suffolk Police say a 42-year-old NYPD auxiliary officer allegedly traded child pornography images online.

A West Babylon man is under arrest and charged with possessing and promoting child pornography, according to Suffolk Police.

Patrick Steiner, 42, is facing five felony counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child and five felony counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child, states a police report.

Police said the arrest made Monday morning was the result of an undercover investigation of individuals who were trading child pornography online. Steiner has served as a sergeant within the New York Police Department auxiliary unit, according to a police press statement.

Police say Steiner is also associated with Starlight Entertainment, a disc jockey music service that provides entertainment at parties and special events. He was held overnight last night for scheduled arraignment today at First District Court in Central Islip.
