West Babylon Man Nabbed for Multiple Burglaries

Police say West Babylon man burglarized at least ten homes in the area.

A West Babylon man was arrested by Suffolk County Police after allegedly committing at least ten burglaries over the past three months.

Suffolk County Police said Anthony Forgione, 28, of 155 Marcy Street, West Babylon, was arrested by detectives for burglarizing a neighboring home at 166 Marcy Street on July 30.

A further investigation connected Forgione to many other burglaries throughout the area, including those in West Babylon, Deer Park and West Islip from April through July.

Police arrested Forgione at around 11:10 a.m. on July 30 and charged with nine counts of Burglary in the Second Degree, one count of Burglary in the Third Degree and Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree.

Forgione was also later charged with Escape in the Second Degree for fleeing from the First Precinct where he was being held on July 31. He was found a short time later.

Forgione will be held at the First Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at the First District Courts in Central Islip on August 1.
