Winning Lottery Ticket Leads to Babylon Residents' Arrests

Two Babylon men who allegedly stole lottery tickets are charged with burglary after a ticket was cashed in for the prize.

Two Babylon men are facing burglary charges after a winning lottery ticket tipped off Nassau Police investigating a burglary at a Williston Park beverage store.

Nassau Police say Cory Allen, 26, of Babylon, and Christopher Webb 31, of West Babylon, along with 21-year-old Mineola resident Lawrence Murphy, burglarized the Willis Avenue Beverage store and allegedly stole $1,800 worth of New York State scratch off lottery tickets, 36 packs of assorted cigarettes and one case of beer.

Allen and Webb were arrested Tuesday at Allen’s house after cashing a winning ticket from the proceeds, police said. Murphy was later arrested the same day at his residence.
