Babylon Town Seeking Applicants for Summer Internship Program

Program offers an opportunity for minority high school students to participate in local government.

 

Applications for the Town of Babylon's summer internship program are now available.

The Ujima Program, according to town officials, provides minority high school students, residing in or attending a school district within the town, a chance to participate in local government.

Interns in this program receive hands-on training and mentorship, said town officials, which serves to foster their interest in community development. Deadline is April 4.

High school students interns are provided "an introduction to the myriad of occupations needed to effectively promote community and neighborhood interests."

Applications for the 2012 program can be downloaded from the town website.
