Babylon Village Board Notes: 2/26 Meeting

The Babylon Village Board of Trustees held a public meeting at Babylon Village Hall on February 26 and passed several resolutions along with some notices about upcoming village events.

The following items were discussed by the Babylon Village Board:

• Approved the minutes of the Feb. 12 meeting.
• Accepted the actions of the Fire Department, including members placed on and off of sick leave and resignations.
• Granted permission to the Babylon Village Arts Council to use Argyle Park, east of the memorial, for a free puppet show from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on July 14.
• Granted permission to St. Paul's Reformed Church to hold a dawn worship service at the Argyle Park Gazebo on Easter Sunday, Mar. 31 at 6 a.m.
• Rehired 11 people as part-time starters at the village golf course.
• Granted permission to GameHut Video Games to set up a sale table on the walkway in front of the store on Sat., Mar. 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to celebrate their one year anniversary.
• Accepted a contract with the New York State Dept. of Agriculture regarding the Asian Longhorned Beetle Eradication Program.

The following items were also announced:

• Deputy Mayor Kevin Muldowney announced the Village Golf Course will reopen on March 11.
• Trustee Debbie Basile announced an art show featuring Elizabeth Karoley on April 19, the annual plant sale on April 27 and afternoon tea part on May 26 at the Conklin House.
