Bellone Honors Babylon Village Girl Scouts for Donations

Girl scouts donated pajamas for women and children in Suffolk County Domestic Abuse shelters.

County Executive Steve Bellone joined with the Domestic Violence Agencies formally thanked a group of Babylon Village Girl Scouts for their donation of over 200 pairs of pajamas to domestic violence shelters in Suffolk County.

The pajama donations were part of a community service project for Troops 1236 and 363 where they had to make a marketing campaign to help solicit donations of new pajamas. The Babylon Memorial Grade School participated, helping the girls collect over 200 pairs for donation.

"The Girl Scouts are a premier agency for young women helping them to build courage, confidence and character," said Bellone. "This community service project... truly provided an opportunity to educate the girl scouts about a relevant issue affect women, children and families and provided an opportunity for them to be of service to others."
