Carol Amelia Takes Over as New Village Trustee

Former New York City police officer will take over for former trustee Alice Vanderveldt.

The Babylon Village Board of Trustees formally introduced resident Carol Amelia as the new member of the Board of Trustees, taking over the term for Alice Vanderveldt who resigned at the last meeting.

"I just want to thank everyone on the Board for the appointment," Amelia said during Tuesday night's meeting.

Amelia, a retired New York City police officer, will take on the remainder of Vanderveldt's term, which should end next year. Vanderveldt resigned on November 13th, leaving an open position on the board. Under these circumstances, the mayor and board members can appoint a new board member to fill the role during the remainder of the term.
