Cell Antenna, Gym on Busy Appeals Board Agenda

The board will hear applications on seven zoning requests including a T-Mobile communications facility and a new gym proposal.

It's going to be a busy night at the Babylon Village Board of Appeals Wednesday as the panel will review a slew of applications, ranging from a cell tower project to a new fitness center proposal.

The public hearings will begin at 7:30 p.m. at village hall.

 1.     Mark Humphreys Sr., 34 Stuart Avenue South, is seeking to maintain a carport at the premises located at 34 Stuart Avenue South, Babylon.

 2.     Douglas A. Durnin, 5355 Merrick Road, Massapequa, , agents of owners Michael and Carleen Yasso, 10 Christopher Court, Babylon, are asking permission to maintain a deck requiring a variance to reduce the minimum side yard setback from 15 ft. required to 9 ft. proposed.

 3.  Thomas A. O’Brien, 29 Cambridge Drive, wants to construct a portico and stoop requiring a variance to reduce the front yard setback from 30 ft. required to 20 ft. proposed.

 4.     Thomas Makkos, 494 Fire Island Avenue, LLC, 494 Fire Island Avenue, Babylon, seeks to reduce the side yard setback from 5 ft. to 2 ft. in connection with an existing accessory storage building.

 5.      T-Mobile Northeast LLC, 3500 Sunrise Highway, Suite D203, Great River, wants to collocate a communication facility on the roof of an existing building with a height of 44 ft.  The building is located at the Venetian Yacht Club, 494 Fire Island Avenue, Babylon, NY.  A variance is required to reduce the antenna height from 50 ft. required to 44 ft. proposed.

 6.     Rita Lang, 214 Woodsome Road, is asking permission to maintain one circular driveway and two curb cuts on Woodsome Road and one driveway with one curb cut on Little East Neck Road.

 7.     Frank Dolan, All 4 Sports and Fitness Inc., 84 Eaton Lane, West Islip, , agent of owner Walter B. Coleman Jr., Farley Realty LLC, 38 Joyce’s Way, Bay Shore, is asking for for permission to operate a fitness center (gym) with physical therapy at the premises located at 41 John Street, Babylon.
