Argyle Lake Park Gets a New Playground

The old play structure at Argyle Park is down and a newer one is being installed.

After months of community speculation, a new playground is being installed at Argyle Lake Park.

The previous wooden structures are being carted away and colorful new metal pieces are going up.

Mayor Ralph Scordino said earlier this year that the old playground structure was slated to be installed at the park at the end of George Street, in front of the Whaler's Cove condominum complex.

That park's playground had some damage, and was in need of updating, and the village wanted to do the most with the budget, said Scordino.

Patch has not received word on when the playground will be ready for use, but Babylon Village crews were spotted working on the park several days this week.
