On The Agenda: Babylon Village Board of Zoning Appeals

On tonight's agenda for the Board of Zoning Appeals are business applications and additions to local homes.

Want to keep up on what new businesses are looking to move into the village? One way is to attend the monthly Babylon Town Zoning Board of Appeals meetings that are held the third Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in Village Hall.

Tonight's meeting has four items on the agenda that will be up for discussion:

  1. The Babylon Child Care Center at 209 Little East Neck Road, Babylon will apply to run a child care facility at the listed address. The property is currently in a Residential O zone.
  2. Dr. Marian Kamath of 94 Riviera Drive South, Massapequa is seeking permission to operate a professional office at 373 West Main Street, Babylon. The property is located in a Residential O Zone.
  3. Richard Cosci of Southport Design, 120 Ocean Avenue, Bayport seeking permission to construct an addition to the home located at 148 Beverly Road, Babylon requiring a variance to maintain a one car garage when a two car garage is required and seek permission to maintain a mother/daughter use. The property located in Residence A-7 District. 
  4. Richard Cosci of Southport Design, 120 Ocean Avenue, Bayport seeking permission to construct additions to the home at 59 Cockenoe Avenue, Babylon requiring variances to reduce the front yard setback from 25 ft. required to 17.59 ft. proposed, to reduce the minimum side yard setback from 6 ft. required to 5.89 ft. proposed and to increase the height limits from 30 ft. permitted to 32.1 feet proposed.  Property located in Residence A-7 District.
