Tanner Beach in remains closed, and now the Suffolk County Department of Health Services (SCDHS)has added a few other local beaches to the closure list.
The recent heavy rainfall in the past few days prompted the county agency to issue an against bathing at a total of 66 county beaches on both north and shore souths. The advisory is based on the potential that bacterial numbers in excess of New York State standards will impact the areas.
