South of Montauk Under Mandatory Evacuation Saturday Morning
Town of Babylon residents near the water will need to begin leaving their homes at 8 a.m.
Babylon Town Supervisor Steve Bellone has ordered a mandatory evacuation of residents in low-lying areas beginning on Saturday at 8 a.m.
The evacuation affects all residents south of Montauk Highway and those on the barrier beaches.
The following shelters will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday:

450 Half Hollow Road, Deer Park
North Babylon Senior High School
1 Phelps Lane, North Babylon

"Please act early if you are in the affected areas and proceed to the available shelters," Bellone said in a statement.
If residents need an emergency evacuation, they should call 911 or 226-1212.
