Village Approves Sidewalk Sales For Another Two Weeks

The Babylon Board of Trustees voted unanimously on Tuesday to approve two more weeks of sidewalk sales.

The Babylon Village Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve the addition of two more weeks of weekend sidewalk sales for storefronts along Main Street and Deer Park Avenue in the coming weekends.

The board approved the addition of two more Saturday sidewalk sales on July 14th and July 28th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Store owners will be allowed to display merchandise on the sidewalks and hold "booths" outdoors during these times.

The village has previously held three sidewalk sales this year. The first, the annual , was a two-day event held on June 2nd and 3rd that brought out many residents as well as performers to the village for the great deals.

The Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce had appealed for more sidewalk sales to be held throughout the summer to promote business and foot traffic. Mayor Ralph Scordino and the board as previous sidewalk sale days. Afterwards, the village would discuss with business owners how well they performed with the aditional days. No details of any discussions were mentioned during the Board Meeting.
