Village Lights Holiday Tree at Argyle Park

Mayor Scordino lights up holiday tree and Santa arrives to delight of children.

The Village of Babylon held its annual Tree Lighting ceremony at Argyle Lake Park on Sunday afternoon, right before sunset.

Mayor Ralph Scordino, flanked by the Board of Trustees, Babylon Fire Chief Paul Twardy and County Legislator Wayne Horsley, threw the big switch to the "on" position and lit up the large conifer to the oohs and aahs of the crowd. Those gathered early were able to enjoy the beautiful sounds of the singing classics like "Frosty the Snowman" and "The First Noel."

A few minutes later, Santa Claus himself showed up on the back on an old Babylon Fire Department truck with department members in tow. He listened to childrens' Christmas wishes and posed for photographs.
