What's on Tap: Assessing Irene's Aftermath

Now that Hurricane Irene has come and gone Patch is asking readers to provide insight on damage, cleanup and storm experiences.

For many, and thankfully, Irene's visit was semi anti-climatic, but for others, especially those by the shoreline the hurricane-turned-tropical storm did some big damage as trees fell, lakes formed in streets and marinas and docks were overrun by raging bay waters.

Hopefully everyone in Babylon Village made it through the weekend without any physical injuries.  We know that some residents are still dealing with flooding and we'll get insight today from village leaders on damage assessment and cleanup efforts.

We're putting together a photo gallery of Hurricane Irene.  If you took pictures or videos, please send them to judy.mottl@patch.com.

We'll let you know what businesses were affected by the storm, and which are still closed.

All Bay Shore ferry services will be suspsended for today.  Stay tuned for when it will resume.
