ZBA Agenda Includes Office Proposals, New Construction & Home Additions

The Babylon Village Board of Appeals at its next meeting will hear seven applications.

The Babylon Village Board of Appeals has a busy agenda on March 21 as local residents and property owners are applying for a variety of approvals. The hearings start at 7:30 p.m. at village hall.

Here are the applications to be heard:

Application of Robert E. Brink, Esq., Babylon for permission to maintain a professional office at 585 Deer Park Avenue, Babylon.

Application of Bruce Zappia, Babylon, for permission to maintain a professional office at 575 Deer Park Avenue, Babylon.

Application of Joseph D’Antona, Deer Park Avenue, Babylon permission to operate a health and wellness center at 94 Deer Park Avenue, Babylon in space exceeding 1,000 square feet of livable floor area. The building is owned by Gregory Gibaldi, 94 DP Associates Inc., 5 Waters Edge Court, Babylon.

Application of Richard Cosci, Southport Design, North Ocean Avenue, Bayport, agent for contract vendee Todd Wolffert, Babylon, and property owner Angela Marx, Babylon, for permission to construct an addition to the existing detached garage requiring variances to reduce the minimum side yard setback from 15 ft. required to 10.89 ft. proposed and to increase the height limits from 15 ft. permitted to 20 ft., 11 in. proposed.

Application of Sara Merrigan, Prospect Street, Babylon, for permission to convert the existing 2-car garage located at 60 Prospect Street, to an apartment and not replace the garage.

Application of Kenneth Rogers, Caledonia Avenue, Babylon, for permission to remove an enclosed porch on the dwelling located at 74 Douglas Avenue, Babylon, creating a variance to reduce the minimum side yard setback from 6 ft. required to 2.6 ft. proposed, to reduce the front yard setback from 30 ft. required to 16 ft. proposed, and to increase the height limit from 30 ft. permitted to 36.19 ft. proposed.

Application of Blair Mathies, agent of owner Mathies Land Development LLC, 203 Melbury Road, Babylon, for permission to construct a dwelling at the corner of Park Avenue and North Carll Avenue, Babylon, requiring a variance to reduce the front yard setback on North Carll Avenue from 30 ft. required to 28 ft. proposed.
