An Evening of Health and Fitness in West Babylon

An evening focused on physical activity, health and wellness drew more than 700 West Babylon residents to the 10th annual Fun Run and Fitness Fair.

Organized by the district’s Wellness Committee and PTA Council, the district hosted an array of activities to support the overall health and fitness of students and community members. Some of the activities included lessons in paddle boarding, yoga, Frisbee toss, relay races, and more. In addition, there were vendors from the community who discussed healthy lifestyle options and organized races for students and adults, as well as free raffles for summer camps and sport registrations.

“The district would like to thank the members of the Wellness Committee – which is comprised of administrators, teachers, and parents – for their tremendous efforts in planning this event,” said Christine Tona, executive director for curriculum and instruction. “It was wonderful to see students, family and staff come together to share an evening focused on physical activity, health, wellness options and community spirit.”
