Babylon Memorial Grade School Current Events teams ranked top in the nation during this year’s series of National Current Events League competitions. Competing in four meets this year, the two teams dominated to capture first place (fifth-grade team) and fourth place (sixth-grade team) honors.

To prepare for the league’s four contests, which consist of 30 multiple choice questions, the teams worked with teacher and league adviser Stephen Fasciani. As questions spanned a variety of areas – including international and national affairs, arts and entertainment, science and math, business and finance, and sports and health – the students were required to be well-versed in all content areas.
