UPDATED: Babylon BOE To Hold Special Meeting Monday

Trustees expected to discuss superintendent candidate applications from "particular persons" as well as a memorandum related to residency requirements in executive session.

The Babylon Board of Education will hold a special meeting Monday at 6 p.m. at the high school library to discuss, in executive session and not in a public session,  “the applications of particular persons for the position of superintendent and advice from counsel regarding an opinion memorandum on residency.”

A call to the district’s spokesperson regarding the meeting topics, cited in a press statement, was not returned by press time. The school district did respond after initial publication by email to clarify the meeting and focus.

According to the district spokesperson: "the board called this special meeting to conduct public business agenda items and that it is anticipated that the board will entertain a motion to meet in executive session to discuss these pieces. "
